Anative of Summit, Mr. Hartlaub is a senior partner in Avelino & Hartlaub, LLP. He attended Franklin and Marshall College, and received his Juris Doctor degree from Temple University in 1972. While focusing on his private practice and handling hundreds of real estate closings annually, Mr. Hartlaub served as Counsel to the Summit, New Providence and Berkeley Heights Board of Realtors for nearly 20 years, until its dissolution in the late 1990s. Recognized for his depth of experience and knowledge of all aspects of transactional real estate, he has been a frequent lecturer on broker-client relationships and residential real estate transactions, appearing before gatherings of real estate professionals as well as on local television broadcasts and before the general public. He has also served numerous times as a consultant on residential real estate contract disputes.

During his 40-year career he has handled more than 10,000 residential real estate transactions of various kinds, including over 4,000 real estate purchases. Mr. Hartlaub has received an “AV” rating from the Martindale-Hubbell rating service, which is the highest ranking, consecutively for over 25 years, and has been named a New Jersey “Super Lawyer™” (top 5% as rated by his peers) multiple times.
